Highland Baking Co. Hires New VP of National Sales
Northbrook, IL--October 2009—Highland Baking Co, a family-owned and operated bread company that provides both fresh local delivery and national distribution, has selected John Updegraff as their new Vice President of National Sales. As a 20-year bakery sales veteran, Mr. Updegraff will help guide the continued growth of the company’s nationally distributed breads for foodservice and in-store and retail bakeries.

As Vice President of National Sales, Updegraff will be responsible for managing all areas of business development for this division, including overall strategy, new market segments and product development as well as overseeing the current client base and maintaining their continued satisfaction.

Having led sales teams in similar positions at Hazelwood Farm Bakeries and, most recently, Pennant Foods, Updegraff has experience developing product lines and custom products to meet the needs of national and regional chains. Prior to these two companies, Updegraff also managed sales teams at Sara Lee Bakery.
